About me

I have been teaching piano at music schools and privately for more than 20 years.

My teaching experience includes: four hands piano, music theory, ensemble music, improvisation, composition and piano accompaniment by international chord writing. I was an accompanying pianist for several choirs and for the Confederation of Music France (CMF) examinations. I played the piano and composed for various musical groups, from classical to jazz, as well as traditional music.

My diverse experience allows me to offer my students a wide range of different methods to learn and practice the piano. I listen to my students’ musical likes, to their objectives and to the amount of time they have to devote to music and piano in order to guide their progression. I rely on their strengths, be it rhythm, improvisation, reading music or musical ear, to help them progress with confidence.
During our lessons we approach all possibilities offered by the piano. This includes, but is not limited to: reading music, improvisation, composition, playing by ear, harmonization of melodies, interpretation of written works and musical accompaniment. My teaching methods, including technical and theoretical aspects, are always approached in a musical and positive manner…

So the student’s enjoyment of learning and playing piano is retained!

The location and equipment

Lessons are held in a specially equipped room. The room has been customized by an acoustics company to provide the best possible sound for the arrival of a baby grand piano.

The piano arrived in 2020, directly from the Bechstein factory in the Czech Republic. A big thank you to Mr. Dehondt, of L’Atelier du Piano. His assistance and professionalism with the delivery of the piano is greatly appreciated.

In addition to the baby grand piano, the students have the opportunity to experiment with two keyboards; a stage Nord Piano and a Yamaha PG. The keyboards allow the students to learn how to work on sounds and rhythms specific to each composition or arrangement they play.
